CQC National Patient Experience Surveys – Update

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, changes have been made to the planned implementation of the CQC National Patient Experience programme.

The main changes are as follows:

• National Inpatient 2020 survey –  Revised sample month to November 2020 (was July), sample collation in December 2020, fieldwork commencing January 2021
• National Maternity 2020 survey –  Survey cancelled. The next Maternity survey is anticipated to be Maternity 2021, sample month February 2021 – to be confirmed by CQC

Finally, National Inpatient Survey 2019 embargoed trust results were sent to trusts mid May. The CQC trust benchmark report publication date is 2nd July 2020,  and they can be found here.
