A few pointers from our own experience:

  • rigorous survey methods lead to reliable and meaningful results
  • extending your sample size will allow reporting right down to team/ward or individual clinician level – this is important if you want to do some internal benchmarking, or support professional registration and practice development and service improvement initiatives
  • pay attention to what patients say about their perspectives on care – fully analysed patient written comments can provide a wealth of useful information
  • face to face facilitated results feedback and discussion with teams is more likely to lead to service improvements than sending out survey results in a written memo
  • there is a direct link between staff satisfaction, clinical team performance and patient experience – happy, well supported and developed teams give great care

We can help you generate reliable patient experience data, interpret the results and take action to make service improvements. Do get in touch to find out more.
